Aragorn forsakes glory and power, seeking simply the love of Elrond’s daughter Princess Arwen, Stamp design: King Elessar of Gondor leads the Army of the Dead at Battle of Pelennor Fields.

Postcard: Gandalf the White (Ian McKellen) fights in the White City, Minas Tirith. He fights to divert Sauron’s attention and forces away from Frodo and the One Ring, Stamp design: Gandalf is a mighty warrior and master wizard.

Maximum Cards: Picture postcards which have an illustration relating to the stamp affixed, and a postmark on the pictorial side of the card. The three elements - postcard illustration, stamp and postmark must relate but not be identical. These post cards and stamps have been postmarked with a specifically-designed cancellation that was only used for that day and issue. The cancellation stamp is a stylized Crown encircled by the words ‘The Return of the King, First Day of Issue, 5 November 2003, Stamps Centre Wanganui New Zealand’.
