A fellow Wizard and friend of Gandalf the Grey, Radagast was one of the five Istari Wizards sent to Middle-earth; his role is guardian of the great forests of Middle-earth.

One of the wisest and most ancient of the Elves remaining in Middle-earth, Elrond (Hugo Weaving) is Master of Rivendell, the Last Homely House East of the Sea. During The Company of Thorin Oakensield’s brief stay, Elrond provides shelter and supplies to Bilbo and the Dwarves.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Miniature Sheets portray the origin of each stamp image, which are derived from key scenes and moments in ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ motion picture. This issue was released in New Zealand on 1 November 2012 (11/01/2012).

An earlier series of Lord of the Rings Miniature Sheets sets was released to commemorate the ‘Middle earth’ movie trilogy: ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ set was issued in December 2001, a second ‘The Two Towers’ set was issued in December 2002 and a third ‘The Return of the King’ set was released in November 2003.
